The Opening Xbox Game Pass Additions of 2026 Show Xbox Is Still Fighting.

Across the gaming landscape, commentators persist in tolling the death bells for the green team. The platform was lately surpassed in sales by a lesser-known competitor. Dedicated Xbox communities are now publishing content about PlayStation as a new development. 2025 was an era of significant turmoil for Xbox and Microsoft. But if we're going solely off what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it's evident that Xbox remains determined to attract subscribers with strong games on its premier subscription.

The Available Now Titles

A pair of titles you can play right now as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's worth getting excited about.

Significant Forthcoming Releases

On Jan. 13, the platform will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that breaks up conventional open-world tropes with a space-faring criminal escapade. Another big get is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, which our 2021 review called "the perfect cocktail of terror and combat."

Noteworthy Smaller Games

But even the smaller games arriving shortly on the service are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, an unjustly ignored roguelite that's a blast to play, drops on Jan. 7th — and it merits a playthrough even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.

The British post-apocalyptic game from last year could captivate you in about 15 minutes flat.

Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by Rebellion Developments, is another one to watch. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.

A Well-Rounded Collection

All in all, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, and they are also not massive exclusive blockbusters that justify the service in the first place. But Microsoft's additions here are exceptionally strong. The lineup provides a solid mix of older titles you may have skipped and fairly new titles that lacked the recognition they deserved the first time around — transforming them into perfect candidates to find a new audience on Game Pass.

Hope you're ready to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
